Born and raised in Mexico, Cristina Ertze started her career as an animator in California
after graduating from a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Computer Arts and Animation (1998)
from the Savannah College of Art and Design.She then became head animation artist for
Harvest Moon Entertainment, where she developed an animated TV series and illustrated
story books. During this time, Cristina
also worked for several clients and studios in the Los Angeles area as a freelance artist
and animator.
In 2001 she moved back to Mexico to become part of one of Latin America’s largest visual
effects studios, Ollin/Studio, in the 3D animation and Visual Effects team. After nearly five
years at Ollin, and having risen to the senior position in her department, she was awarded
two Scholarships, to study a Masters in Film and TV at Edinburgh College of Art. She graduated top in her
class and is now dedicated full-time to establishing and developing BitterBlue, an
independent production company cofounded with producer Robin McAlpine.
